Napa Valley Wine Train

The Napa Valley Wine Train is one of Napa's best and most unique restaurants.

The Napa Valley Wine Train provides a relaxing three hour journey along the thirty six mile round-trip between the historic town of Napa through one of the world's most famous wine valleys to the quaint village of St. Helena and back. The train itself has two engines, three kitchens and a collection of early 20th century rail cars that are pure Americana. It offers guests great regional food and fabulous, hard-to-find wines.

The Route of the Napa Valley Wine Train

The Napa Valley Wine Train begins its journey at the McKinstry Street Station in Napa. The train then travels north to St. Helena, where the locomotive disconnects from the north facing side of the train and reconnects to the south facing side of the train in preparation for the return journey.

Food

Our chefs have practiced for years to be able to present a fabulous gourmet meal, one equal to any of Napa's other great restaurants, on a moving train. Just like at other fine dinning establishments, when you are a a guest on the Napa Valley Wine Train you order off a menu (or choose the special), and we cook your food only after we know exactly how you like it. Nationally known Executive Chef, Kelly Macdonald uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients, earth friendly produce, humanely raised meats, and line caught or responsibly farmed fish.

We love it when guests come to see us at work in the on board kitchen. We have even installed windows on our main kitchen so that guests can watch the grill fire from 3 feet away! When you come on the train, be sure to ask your server when the best time to visit the kitchen would be. Then come and see how we do it in person.

• Gourmet Express - Return to the luxury and tradition of railroad dining, when the steward seats you at your table in the Gourmet Dining car. Half your journey will be white linen service, the other? The velvet comfort of the lounge car.

• Vista Dome - Intimate, special and above the rest of the crowd. Almost 180 degrees of Napa Valley vistas under the unique antique dome windows. Enjoy great wine pairing events and romantic moonlight dinner packages.
• Silverado Car - Your basic, open-air, train experience with an a la carte menu.
• Or enjoy wine tours, wine tasting & wine maker dinners.
• Daily Winery Tours - we offer these Napa Wine Tours: Grgich Hills, Domaine Chandon and Raymond, ZD
• Napa Valley Wine Train Events include regional wine tasting dinners, on board lunch with a local Napa vintner, Murder Mystery dinner theater.
• Onboard Wine Tasting Bar - We serve more than 100 wines onboard and carry over 300 in our Wine Shop. Director of Wine, Ryan Graham, has gone to great lengths to select and acquire fantastic limited production California wines. If you can't get into a winery's tasting room, you might find their wines in our Wine Shop or at our Wine Tasting Bar!
